The state Department of Justice has received a federal grant of more than $238,000 to help sexual assault victims. The funds will go to the New Hampshire Coalition Against Domestic Violence. It will be distributed to its 12 crisis centers to support direct service to victims, 24-hour crisis lines, child care, peer support groups, and emergency shelter and transportation. The grant is awarded through the Office of Violence Against Women, part of the US Department of Justice. Maureen McDonald of the coalition said that last year, more than 2,000 women, children, and men in the state reached out for support related to a sexual assault.
